20 ways of reusing silica gel packets

Recently I saw this article from "Did You Know?" and it is about reusing something that we always threw away... Silica Gel

So, this is how the article goes:

Silica gel is a desiccant, a substance that absorbs moisture. Despite its misleading name, the silicate is actually a very porous mineral with a natural attraction to water molecules. Manufacturers utilize the gel to keep goods from spoiling, molding or degrading due to humidity. The gel itself is nontoxic, but can have a moisture indicator added (cobalt chloride) which is a known toxin that turns pink when hydrated and is otherwise blue in its dry form. Most silica found in our food and household purchases looks like tapioca beads and is benign unless combined with certain chemicals.
  • Put packs in your ammo cans and gun cases/safes to keep dry.
  • Protect personal papers and important documents by putting some gel in a baggie wherever these are stored.
  • Keep with photos to spare them from humidity. Tuck a small envelope in the back of frames to protect even the ones hanging on your walls.
  • Store in camera bags and with film. After snapping photos in cold or wet conditions, silica gel will absorb moisture to keep your lens from fogging or streaking.
  • Leave a couple packs in your tool box to prevent rusting.
  • Use the material to dry flowers.
  • Place with seeds in storage to thwart molding.
  • Stash some in window sills to banish condensation.
  • Dry out electronic items such as cell phones and iPods. Remember after the device has gotten wet, do not turn it back on! Pull out the battery and memory card and put the device in a container filled with several packs. Leave it in there at least overnight.
  • Slow silver tarnishing by using the gel in jewelry boxes and with your silverware.
  • For items in storage, such as cars or anything prone to mildew. For use in engines of sitting vehicles.
  • Tired of buying big bags of pet food only to have it get soggy? Store your kibble in a bin and tape some silica packs to the bottom of the lid.
  • Cut open the packs and saturate the beads with essential oils to create potpourri.
  • Use in luggage while traveling.
  • Tuck some in your pockets. Hide them in your closet in leather goods such as coats and shoes, and even handbags, to help them survive life in storage.
  • Gather your razor blades and keep in a container with several silica packs to stave off oxidation.
  • Video tape collections will last much longer with these to help keep them dry.
  • Litter is now made with silica. With its fantastic absorption qualities, this litter requires fewer changes and sends less mess to the landfill.
  • Squirrel some away in your car, especially on your dashboard. This will help maintain a clear windshield and leave it less foggy during times of high humidity.

  • I personally feel that this is a really interesting article to look at and so I decided to share it with you guys. Hope this helps in some ways.

    Manga... ...漫画... ...マンガ... ...만화

So, this is something that I have liked for a very long time, and that is manga.
Here are some of my favorite manga series.

    1. Fairy tail

This manga has been rated as one of the top-rated manga on many manga reading website.
The selling point about this manga is that it is a mixture of action, mystery and science fiction of magic.
This manga had been so popular that it has its own anime series.
I personally like the manga series more than the animated version but there have been many people telling me that the animated series is as good as the manga series. (I guess it is all about personal favorite)

    2. Beelzebub

This is another manga that is highly rated in many manga reading website.
The interesting part about this manga is that it is a mixture of demons and fights.
There are many amazing fighting illustration spread across the entire manga which definitely have the magic to draws you in.
There is also an animated series for this manga, I personally like it a lot as it really brings out the fighting scenes in the manga and making even more awesome.

This manga series is my top favorite among these 6 manga that I am sharing.
This manga is one of those romanced type manga with a mixture of school life.
The manga series is also being made into a drama series which is really great to watch.
There were some twisted in the drama series and the manga series but, it is still very similar in terms of story line which make it really interesting to watch. (Something I really like about the drama series is that there are many good looking actors acting on the drama, like Jesse Lewis)

    4. Aka-chan to boku aka Baby & Me

    MRT problem

OK there were about 2/3 of Singaporean including foreigners, PRs and tourist riding the MRT everyday.
And everyone knows that there are some MRT etiquette that we tend to follow.
Although we don't really empathize it but we do know about its existence.

This is what i wanted to say, you guys know about the metal rail at the top of the MRT train right?

You know some guys like to hold there for support (is like they would hold there even though there are hand rail to hold onto).
OK I know that holding that part is better in keeping balance on a moving train.
But must you hold that part every time you enter the train?
I have seen a lot of guys doing that.
Most of the time, I am not really disturbed by it.
But, you know (during peak hours), there are guys still doing so.
These guys are the one who is not really tall so, they have to fully stretched their arm just to grab that part.
And you know, sometimes your face just happen to be there. (girls you know what I am talking about right?) And the worst part is that that person just happen to just finish from his work and had sweat under his armpit.
You can imagine the smell that is coming from there right?? x(

There is another problem that came from there.
But I believe that it is something that does not happen very often to anyone.
OK, so today, when I was riding the MRT,
There was this guy who were holding the metal rail standing in-front of me.
He is actually quite tall and after holding the metal rail, his arm is bended and his elbow is around the height of my forehead.
So when the MRT made a sudden break (this happen every time), my forehead went straight towards his elbow.
And it hurt so bad that it actually create a bum on my forehead.

So guys let me tell you this.
I know how the metal rail in the MRT is so much better to hold onto for balance than the hand rail.
But please understand that there are people who is shorter than you and if you are still going to do that, make sure that you armpit does not stink, cause it is really disgusting and make people feel very uncomfortable.

    I have seen it all

OK i have seen it all...
i personally think that it is seriously disgusting and i believe at many people feel so too...
you know how couples will to do those couple thingy in the public right??
like kissing, hugging, padding?? and worst of them all is having small talks among themselves.. (seriously I can't stand these more than anything)
OK for me, people who kept on publicly showing affection to their partner is something that should be done at home or someplace that not one sees cause not everyone is interested to know how you and your boyfriend/girlfriend is affectionate with each other.
Some people do find it uncomfortable and disgusting towards this type of things. (For example me)
I am not saying you guys should not do it, but instead please do it in a more public conscious manner.

    Disclaimer:
I am saying from my point of view... If it obstruct your believes please don't hesitate to pin down your thoughts, cause I am not speaking on behalf of all those people out there who feel the same as me.

    A little about myself

So this is what I have decided to start off.
There isn't much about me, I am just some boring people living a boring life....
But like most of the teenagers, I do have quite a few interests.
I love watching TV. I watched all sorts of different shows.
From Taiwan long series dramas (八点档) to Korea dramas, from Anime to entertainment shows to documentaries.
I also love to listens to music, such as K-pop, J-pop, Katy Perry and many more.
I am not really the type who would just go crazy about a certain bands, group or singer.
To me, those type of people is someone I just cannot stand.
What is so great about that particular group and singer that you would make an effort to go and criticizes other people. Couldn't you just keep whatever you like to yourself and mind your own business??
